The event features a host of keynotes, panels, and interactive seminar sessions from BIM and digital construction experts from across the globe, looking at everything from artificial intelligence to predictive data. The event is organised by the Newcastle-based Space Group, capitalising upon the region’s strong construction technology connections. Founder Rob Charlton and his team have created a rich agenda built around four themes: Next Generation, Data, Strategy, and Stories.
While there will inevitably be some future-gazing, a lot of discussion will focus on what is currently being achieved. And we can tell stories about how we are already helping teams to manage BIM-related processes and deliver successful collaborative projects.
Opentree will have an exhibition space at the event, close to that of Viewpoint, one of our collaboration partners and another firm with a strong association with Newcastle. Over the past year, we have been working with Viewpoint (and other BIM ‘common data environment’, CDE, vendors – see post) to develop a smooth integration between our internal file management platform Cabinet and their cloud-based platforms.
Cabinet is deployed by Opentree customers to manage “work in progress” (WIP) files, file names and statuses within groups of designers. Our integration developments make it easy for files and related metadata to be exchanged between WIP and a CDE. As a result, architects, engineers, contractors and other users can maintain BS1192-compliant records relating to their Shared and Published intellectual property.
Join us at BIMShowLive
We will be showcasing Cabinet and its CDE connectivity options at BIMShowLive and look forward to welcoming customers new and old to Newcastle. If you are considering attending, please let us know – Opentree has some discounted places available for clients and and guests. And there is an app for the show too, complete with details of sponsors including Opentree.
